Construction Material to be Recycled in Noida. The Noida authority plans to make bricks, tiles and other construction materials by recycling construction debris dumped across the city.
Construction Material to be Recycled in Noida. Officials informed that the decision was taken after it was observed that most builders, contractors and residents throw construction debris on any available vacant plot.
According to the authority, an agency will be selected in the next two to three months for collecting construction debris from across the city and transporting it to the plant.
Officials said that the authority aims to replicate the model of Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. The authority said that another reason for the move is to check dumping of construction debris on the Yamuna floodplains, which pollutes the river.
In January 2013, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had banned dumping of debris, including construction material, into the Yamuna and had directed Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to remove the rubble immediately. However, dumping of construction material on Yamuna floodplains continues.
