Delhi Metro Phase IV up for consideration by Kejriwal Government

During a courtesy call meeting paid by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Hardeep Singh Puri – Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (HUA), Kejriwal appraised Puri that his Government will go ahead with the Phase – IV of Delhi Metro proposal as per the financing policy norms for further consideration and approval. Both ministers discussed various issues including decongestion of traffic in Delhi, the State Government’s concurrence for the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), better maintenance of sewers, sanitation etc. Kejriwal said that Delhi Government will work with the centre for betterment of the national capital. He assured Puri that he will have the issues raised by the later will be considered on priority and Delhi Metro Phase IV will be considered by Kejriwal Government.

Puri assigned Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary (HUA) with the task of coordination with Delhi State Government for taking necessary action for decongestion of traffic in the national capital as per the recommendations made in the Report of The High Powered Committee on Decongesting Traffic in Delhi. This report was submitted to Delhi Government in June 2016.
