Announcing the seminar, Dr. Mona N Shah, Dean RICS School of Built Environment, Noida Campus, said, “The Pradhan Mantri AwasYojna-Housing for All (Urban) (PMAY-HFA (Urban)) Mission has highlighted a massive housing deficit, and the problem of affordability which cannot be tackled through conventional technology utilized in the construction industry. Emerging technologies have an edge over conventional systems in the aspects of time, cost, quality of the finished product, and sustainability. Emerging technologies will play a vital role in effective implementation of PMAY. Hence, there is a need to understand the crucial barriers and opportunities associated with the adoption. Through this seminar we would also possibly bring out the challenges associated with the adoption of emerging technologies along with the available opportunities for adoption. The seminar will be highly informational to stakeholder segments like the Real Estate developers, Government agencies, Construction contractors, Consulting firms, Technology Providers, ED, BMTPC, Technology Providers, and Top Academic Institutes. ED, BMTPC, Technology Providers and Academic Institutes will address the issue and the audience.

In last couple of years, RICS has worked alongside BMTPC on many projects under the theme of emerging housing technologies and knowledge dissemination. These projects were primarily focused on two aspects, evaluation of emerging housing technologies and development of a knowledge-base of these technologies
