Mysuru, March 27:- Kenji Kawamota of Managing Director of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – VST Diesel Engines Pvt Ltd, Mysuru, delivered a talk for the students of Master of Business Administration (MBA) at GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women on KRS Road here on Wednesday (March 24).
Kawamoto who is associated with Mitsubishi for more than four decades, addressed the students about the current trends prevailing in the industry sector related to manufacturing and marketing of engines by Mitsubishi globally. The theme of the talk was “Use of variety of Mitsubishi engines especially in the agricultural sector.”
He expressed happiness on being associated with the Indian conglomerate VST Diesel Engines Pvt Ltd, Mysuru and shared the fact that in 2018 Mitsubishi in association with VST Diesel Engines Pvt Ltd was capable of manufacturing one lakh engines, which have been exported to various countries across the globe.
He also spoke about the quality parameters adopted in manufacturing of Kaizen, Poka-yoke, 5S and quality management system. “A majority of the diesel engines have been exported to the United States and the European Union. The total engine production capacity in Mysuru division is approximately 30,000 units per annum. The engines are vastly used in light towers, tractors, Gen sets and construction machinery,” he added.
Kawamoto called upon the students to work hard to achieve success and posses in depth knowledge in their area of specialisation chosen. We should always try to make others happy, especially the farmers who work hard on the fields to raise crops.
Dr Shivakumar M, principal, GSSSIETW, presided over the function. Dr Nagalingappa G, professor and head, and director – Strategic Initiatives, Department of MBA, welcomed the chief guest and the dignitaries.
Dr Aparna J Varma, associate professor, Department of MBA, GSSSIETW, introduced the expert to the audience. Mahanthesh U, assistant professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW was present.
