Larsen and Toubro, Megawide Wins ‘Hyderabad Airport Expansion Contract’. GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), a subsidiary company of GMR Infrastructure Limited operating Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has awarded airport expansion contract to Larsen & Toubro Limited and Megawide Construction Corporation worth Rs 3,028 crore and Rs 980 crore respectively. The expansion work is related to the terminal building and airside infrastructure.
According to a filing with the bourses, GMR said that the expansion work contracts were awarded through international competitive bidding on L1 basis. GHIAL has issued LOIA for construction of Terminal Building and Airside Infrastructure contracts to the respective companies. Larsen and Toubro, Megawide Wins ‘Hyderabad Airport Expansion Contract’.
The expansion of terminal building, airside infrastructure and allied infrastructure is to achieve 34 million annual passengers (MAP) throughput from the existing design capacity of 12 MAP, GMR said.
The proposed expansion works are expected to be completed in 42 months from the date of award. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport set up about a decade ago is functioning at its full capacity.
