In addition to the ‘Sabka Katha, Sabka Vikas’, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also set the goal of ‘Sabka Niwas’ (housing for all) by 2022. CREDAI Maharashtra has taken the active initiative the achieve this goal and has shot off a request letter to the Prime Minister’s Office requesting to organize a nationwide ‘Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme Week’ (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Week).
Informing about the initiative, Credai Maharashtra President Shantilal Kataria said that in order to promote the Prime Minister’s housing scheme, CREDAI has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Center and the State governments. However, an awareness needs to be created among the public and developer community for the fulfilment of this ambitious plan. Keeping this objective in mind, CREDAI has proposed to organized a ‘Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme Week’ across the country beginning from the World Environment Day (June 5).
He further said that we are looking at this week from a very broad perspective and our main goal is to encourage developers to build affordable homes. We intend to implement various programs jointly with the Central and State governments in this direction. We can undertake initiatives like honoring the architectures building innovative creations as also developers building affordable projects with the help of modern technology, raising awareness about the week through media, organizing an exhibition on Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, to organize competitions to encourage developers and technicians, honoring a city or state with Best Performance Award that implements the housing scheme effectively etc. through which the dream of affordable homes can be realized with joint efforts. We have put all these things in the letter, said Kataria.
