Pranab Kumar Gogoi and Ram Kumar – have been released in the morning hours on April 3 along the Indo Myanmar border.
Gogoi, a drilling superintendent and Ram Kumar, a radio operator with the company were abducted on December 21 from the company’s Kumchaikha hydrocarbon drilling site in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.
Gogoi is a native of Sivasagar while Ram Kumar is a resident of Bihar.
ULFA(I) was initially reported to have demanded a ransom of Rs 20 crore from Quippo, a subsidiary of SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd that does contractual work for Oil India Limited (OIL) in the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas.
